For Educators & Organizations
MathBuddy is a working prototype, seeking independent review from K-5 math and ESL educators before any recommendation for classroom or family use.
Independent educator review
We are looking for K-5 math or ESL educators willing to try MathBuddy themselves and give candid feedback on the explanations it produces, the language support, and where it falls short. This is an individual, informal review — not a research study and not a purchase decision.
Organization evaluation
If you represent a school, district, tutoring organization, or nonprofit serving K-5 students, you are welcome to evaluate MathBuddy the same way — try it yourself, using synthetic problems, and share what you find. This is a first look, not an onboarding process.
Approximate time requested
Most reviewers spend about 15–30 minutes: trying a handful of problems across a couple of grade levels, and optionally the photo-upload and language features, then sending feedback.
Use synthetic, fictitious problems only
Please use made-up homework problems (write your own, or invent a fictitious "Student A") rather than a real child's actual homework or any material identifying a real student.
Do not enter a real student's name, contact details, or school information into MathBuddy.
Do not upload a photo that contains a real student's name or face. A blank worksheet, a problem you wrote out by hand, or a printed/typed problem with no identifying marks is fine.
Suggested evaluation questions
- Is the step-by-step explanation mathematically correct for the problems you tried?
- Is the explanation pitched at a reasonable level for the grade you selected?
- If you tested a non-English language, did the response read naturally and stay consistently in that language?
- If you tested the photo upload, did it correctly read a problem you wrote or printed?
- Where did the response fall short, confuse, or potentially mislead a student?
- Would you want anything to change before a student in your care used this?
Optional: future pilot discussion
A pilot with real students is not currently available and would require a separate privacy and consent process first. If, after reviewing MathBuddy yourself, you would be interested in discussing what a future limited pilot might look like, mention that when you write in.
Participation does not constitute endorsement
Trying MathBuddy or sending feedback does not mean you, your school, district, or organization endorses, sponsors, or is affiliated with MathBuddy in any way.
